with senset it is similar because it does not even appear in the final battle unlike Tempest

Most of the pillars was believed to just be stories and not actual ponies that existed also it was a book and not a flashback in rr.  
There is also the fact they didn’t want eqg to become a requirement to understand fim

I wanna believe EQG is canon because of this (unfortunately short) cameo, but there’s so many events from the show that contradict this idea. Such as:  
-no one verbally acknowledging the events of EQG in S4-9  
-the mirror portal is nowhere to be seen (not even in Twilight’s castle)  
-the Pillars of Old Equestria appearing alongside Starswirl during the Dazzling flashback in the S7 finale (Rainbow Rocks implied that Starswirl confronted and banished the Dazzlings to the human world by himself)
 
I’m sure there are more canon events that go against EQG’s existance like these, but I can’t think of any more ATM.

you’ve been canon since the first EQG movie. its not like a anime series where none of movies are canon. I can name like 3 series where there some of there movies where canon

The problem is there’s still some who continue to deny it’s canon no matter what (probably for the rest of their lives). This little cameo just seals the deal on top of everything else that proved it was canon in the past.

All the movie characters are canon too like Tempest Shadow, Capper, and the Storm King. The Storm King especially has probably the most prominent influence in the show considering he was a source of conflict for Silverstream and was wrecking havok in the Equestria Girls world. I think it’s fair to say that both are canon.

Wasn’t she already canon when they revealed the sirens in season 7? I mean if the dazzlings are canon why wouldn’t Sunset?

Actually, that means Cooler is canon to GT. Which is not canon to anything else, and is garbage, but Cooler is canon in it. That shot of Sunset isn’t some minor easter egg, it’s a pretty important shot with meaning behind it.

Cooler appears in a DBGT scene, Do that means it is part of that continuity …? no .., that is something called “easter egg” which is something very common really but apparently nobody understands that …

No, i just wanted to show that this is actually dosen’t proof that EG is canon. If someone don’t want to consider it canon, he has the logical reasons for it.
 
I, personally, don’t care if EG is canon or not. I like Sunset Shimmer and some of the EG episodes. But it triggers me how people can do such unreasonable statements, like it’s a proven fact.

The rules of fiction means they wouldn’t have incorporated it unless it was pre-established and important. The only way for this to have happened was EG.
 
Why not assume EG canon to FiM? If the stories are kept separate as is the big argument for their being separate, then it won’t hurt FiM to have it canon with EG.
 
Are you saying it’s non-canon or you don’t want to consider it canon?
