I see this cute picture of Glimmy and I wonder… how lonely it must have been for Starlight to have no friends for all those years. How long before it broke her and drove her to extreme measures just so she could have at least one friend.
 
Not many consider this when it comes to her motivation.
 
It would not just have been her friend leaving that did it to her. It would also be all the years of having nopony to play with. No pony to confide in. Of course she was going to break.
