Why not? Sure you want to humanize them, but let’s not forget that they are ponies;however the bridle unlike the saddle(wwhich can be use as a fashion acessories) might be a bit to much.

@Vlakc Real bridles have a bit (a piece of metal that goes between a horses’ teeth and over their tongue) that applies pressure on their mouths when the reins are pulled, which directs them which way to go. It probably is uncomfortable and horses need to be really gently broken into them or they can become aggressive or shy towards people. What Applejack and Rarity are wearing are more like halters (being without bits) and they probably wouldn’t be uncomfortable unless they were too tight.

pardon my ignorance but aren’t bridles uncomfortable or even hurt the horse’s mouth in some cases. (I could be wrong, just asking)

It kinda makes sense with saddles and bridles as fashion accesories for ponies.
 
They weren’t completely scrapped tho. You can sometimes see them in the background of Rarities place.

I’m…not sure what to think about bridles in the show.  
I have a feeling some Bronies may find it very cloppable or offensive in one way or another, but on the bright side it would make the show more pony-like.

Honestly, I’m glad they didn’t add bridles. Not only it makes them look way too horse-like, but it also has a kinky sound to it.
