Nick said she won’t cameo in Season 9.

I doubt she’d make a cameo but just imagine after all these denials your watching the last episode and its a Star Wars like ceremony going on honoring the Mane 6. The camra pans over focusing in then BAM! Sunset is seen in the crowd, like Twilights parents during her coronation, she doesnt even have to speak. That would have the audience roaring and give me some sort of peace!

The recent episodes have had Twilight getting ready to lead Equestria since Celestia and Luna’s retirement is imminent. I could see there being a large coronation for this event similar to when Twilight first became an Alicorn. Then Sunset could appear in the crowd.

Maybe the last episode could have one of those type of scenes that finales use where pretty much every character that ever appeared in the series shows up. Then she would be seen in the crowd.

I’m not in denial about EqG being canon. Twilight’s growth just before S4 and her calmed way to accept her new role is a stronger argument to accept it.
 
All I’m saying is that ‘word of god’ is bs on a show like MLP which has many heads working on the episodes and seasons.
 
‘Word of god’ works on single author works such as Harry Potter because there’s only one creator and whatever he/she decides to be canon will be canon, even if not explicitly shown in the final cut it is absurd to contradict the author itself.
 
On a show owned by a big company, with multiple authors and editors, what is left at the final cut is what can be considered canonical. Words on twitter and conventions mean nothing.

Seriously, there are better arguments to make for EQG being canon, even the sirens who were shown to be sent to some portal on FiM, not explicitly showing where were they sent, is better argument that ‘the writers and producers said so’.

Except that the writers have said (specifically Confalone and Haber) have made clear that EQG is canon to FiM. So they are not different continuities. They are one and the same.
