Yeah it’s one of those things where if you think about it, why doesn’t she just use telekinesis to just stop their heart?
“With magic! …Shit.”
Super duper Rule #6 - sorry artist, we’re really being rude to you and I’m sorry about that. Just report these comments if you want them deleted, because at this point we’re basically treating this image like a chat window.
The idea for a train was a demand from Hasbro for a train. The balloon was Lauren’s idea, and probably was a smaller version of the enormous airships that they had.
And with that, please let’s let this comment thread get back on the topic of the artist’s drawing, not all these discussions about the theme or tangents to other stuff.
O.o
You have a point
You don’t see any other weapons aside from Spears and Staves…
Vice versa
Where’d they get the idea to make a train or hot-air balloon?
Again, this is probably Rule #6, but it shoots projectiles, so that fits the definition of “gun”. As for its classification beyond that, we know she can shoot ponies in the face or butt with it, so if it were classified by any of the laws I’m aware of it’s probably more of an airsoft rifle or T-Shirt canon. But at the same time she used it as an offensive weapon during the invasion of the Changelings, so it probably would have to be classified under “Magic Weapons That Do Whatever is Most Funny At The Time And Only Hurts Those Who Are A Danger To Canterlot Otherwise It’s Just Really Annoying”.
I find it more interesting to wonder where she got the idea of it. I mean, it’s the only thing of its kind in the show. So where did Pinkie get the idea?
Super-Extra-Rule-6-Tangent: At Minicon one year we handed out sticky labels and labels on strings that said; “THIS OBJECT IS IN VIOLATION OF MINICON WEAPONS POLICY” for people to tie to or stick on lights, penises, stick on butts, and to cover their mouths with, because Minicon issued a new “Weapons Policy” that forbid any device or mechanism that “projected anything”. It was funny, but only from one perspective. They ended up on anything that emitted photons or water or even air, like TVs and faucets and fans and hot air ducts. The hotel was not pleased, but the next year that policy had been “amended”. Good times.

Query.
Does Pinkies Party Cannon qualify as a Gun?
I’ll see your magic gun, and raise you a magic gun spear!
If you want to continue this discussion, just PM me.
I’ll respond when I can.
Have a pleasant day/night.
And sorry for the ruckus I caused.
I didn’t say that. I disagreed with the statement “We’re a country based around Gun Culture”. I said that “America is really about Car Culture & Alcohol, and to a lesser extent Oil and Apple. And Immigration. And Freedom. And Equality.” Guns are something that became “a part of the culture” significantly more recently than any of those other things, so I disagree that the country was based on guns.
I believe it is significantly more appropriate to say the United States was based on freedom and capitalism. And the First Amendment is about the Freedom Of Speech. And just based on what we spend our money on, the country is much more about pornography culture than gun culture.
@TheMagpulPone
I believe you are correct. If you feel those comments break Rule #6, which I believe is probably a correct interpretation of the rule, please report them and someone else on staff will audit this situation, a discussion which I of course must recuse myself from. So just report them and someone else on staff will audit this.
@MoonGazer Lunarium
Okay, now you’ve gone completely off topic. Please go to the Political Thread if you want to discuss that kind of stuff.

Lie?
Really now?
Meuller Report and Steele Dossier ring a bell?
Kavanaugh hearings?
Antifa being “Peaceful Protestors” while rioting and attacking People who just happen to walk by?
Eric Clanton is another example of “Peaceful Protest”
Attacks on Andy Ngo?
What about Milo Yiannopoulus?
I can list a lot of things.
But the last thing ANYONE needs to do is lean only one Political direction.
I vote Blue or Red, depending on what he/she wants to do with the nation.
I want Trump out of Office, no mistake.
But if you’re going to call a certain side liars or such…..
You might want to also look at the side you’re rooting for.
I’m stuck with Bible thumping idiots who constantly say Religion should stay separate from State, then advocate a Theocracy under THEIR Religion.
Crap drives me nuts!
I was gonna try to stay out of this, but saying that American culture doesn’t include firearms despite Americans collectively owning nearly 400 million guns and it being a passionately defended right throughout our history is kinda ridiculous.
Side note, I thought this wasn’t even allowed in the comments..

Yes, I believe that we should not lie or make up shit just to satisfy our own personal biases or promote our opinions as if they were facts.
In the United States today that makes me “politically bias”.
Who would have thought a Site Mod would be Politically bias.
Shocker.
I did not.
I said that your claim that “To remove that culture would mean to have our economy collapse and unemployment skyrocket” does not hold water. You’re claiming that the loss of an industry that earns $41 billion annually, but results in costs of $229 billion, would result in economy collapse.
That’s nonsense.
If you want to move into a debate of historical or sociopolitical ramifications of the end of gun cultures in other countries, please use the Political thread in the Generals forum.
If you want to write fanfiction about how the United State’s economy depends on gun sales, please use the FanFiction forum.
And, in case you haven’t noticed, conservatives in the United States are working to make protest illegal right now.
So the first amendment has never been more important, and unless you plan on shooting lawmakers it’s your words, not your guns, that will preserve your freedom to protest at this time.
PS: I was also disagreeing with your contention that the U.S. is a “country based around Gun Culture”. It is not. It is based on immigration, freedom, capitalism, and equality. If it’s based around any “culture”, it’s Rock and Roll and Cars and Drinking.

People losing jobs and businesses is a positive.
You literally just advocated loss in revenue, across the country, as a positive.
Without the 2nd, there isn’t a 1st.
Look at Venezuela or Australia.
No protest by Government rule.
The 1st is our first line of Defense against our Government if they step out of line.
The 2nd is there when the 1st is threatened and there to provide safety from outside threats.
Which is one of the main reasons Japan didn’t attempt a landing in WW2.
We make billions in weapons sales and that disappearing over night would cause economic chaos for everyone.
Banks would take a blow that’s also connected to your Macy’s argument.
I have no idea what you were trying to argue here, but you’d destabilize an entire economy, put citizens at risk as they have no Defense (and our Police can’t do squat without getting reprimanded for doing their JOB)
Cost thousands-millions jobs, shutdown businesses in droves (Factories, Gun Stores and small businesses)
And you consider that a positive?
😕

The United States is based around immigration, freedom, and equal rights. The First Amendment is what makes America special, not the Second.
However, the claim that the United States economy is dependent on the manufacture and sale of firearms and ammunition does not hold water.
There are individual companies making refrigerators and washing machines that account for more revenue than all of the firearms and ammunition manufacturers combined.
And the cost to the economy from fatal and non-fatal gun violence is TEN TIMES greater than the benefit.
Macy’s - all by themselves - just that one single company - has annual revenues equal to all of the firearms and ammunition manufacturers combined.
Do you think the US economy would collapse and unemployment would skyrocket if Macy’s failed?
No - of course not. No one thinks that. It would be ridiculous for anyone to think something like that.
Utterly ridiculous.
And Macy’s doesn’t cost the economy TEN TIMES its annual revenue is downstream costs.
Because those claims are utterly ridiculous and wrong and do not hold water from any perspective.
Here’s some numbers I found looking up some other things:
$1 billion - Annual comic book sales
$3 billion - Annual revenue of gun and ammunition stores
$5 billion - Annual revenue from sales of Hasbro toys
$13 billion - Annual revenue of gun and ammunition manufacturing industry
$21 billion - Annual revenue for the Whirlpool company
$28 billion - Annual revenue from gun and ammunition sales (2015)
$47 billion - Annual revenue from milk sales
$62 billion - Annual revenue of Apple
$136 billion - Annual revenue from oil in the U.S.
$178 billion - Annual revenue from the manufacture and sale of military hardware in the U.S.
$229 billion - The cost of fatal and non-fatal gun violence to the U.S. (2012)
$230 billion - Annual revenue from liquor sales
$273 billion - Annual revenue from the auto aftermarket
$686 billion - Annual cost of the military industrial complex in the U.S. (2019)
$953 billion - Annual revenue from car manufacture
Yes, you read that right, the “Gun Culture” in the U.S. costs the U.S. more each year than the entire country makes in the manufacture and sale of military hardware. I knew it was bad, but I didn’t realize it was that bad.
So - as everyone already knew, America is really about Car Culture & Alcohol, and to a lesser extent Oil and Apple. And Immigration. And Freedom. And Equality.
But mostly Cars and Liquor.
The entire United States gun industry could disappear tonight and the net effect on the economy would be positive.

So, potential criminals in Europe will still find their way to do a shooting the same way any us American could? Damn how could i miss that!
Yes, not the place to discuss it, if you want pm me for this, I’m open
We’re a country based around Gun Culture.
What a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that our economy is fueled considerably by weapons purchases within the US.
It’s also jobs and careers for people.
To remove that culture would mean to have our economy collapse and unemployment skyrocket.
But, no one really tries or wants to look at that.
Yeah, you’re right.
I apologise.
@SmartMars603
@Naughtypony2010
I am 100% in favor of American gun freedoms, but this is probably the incorrect spot to be discussing the topic.
actually using fire to fight fire is a strategy to stop forest fire
How many deaths are there in Europe through guns in percentage compared to America? Where there are less guns less can happen because of them lol. Like fighting fire with more fire was ever good in history. Please, it’s so simple
