I’ve never actually seen this brought up anywhere, even after this premiere, but was anyone else incredibly…creeped out by Discord’s throne?
I mean, throughout the premiere he’s all about causing chaos with silly things like cotton candy clouds that rain down chocolate milk, but then you look at his throne and…it doesn’t reflect this…“humorous” side of him at all. It’s incredibly menacing, especially with the deer antlers attached to the top of it.
It’s anything BUT chaotic, it’s just…menacing looking.
I always thought it was what Discord was really like, deep down. Just kind of a monster really.
Remember the stain glass window of him dangling ponies over fire? What if that was literal and not metaphorical? Then there’s him dangling the ponies by their necklaces…I mean, what would have happen if he was in Ponyville longer and got bored? I mean, he did tell Twilight that these were only his FIRST changes.

I think the stained glass window of Discord dangling ponies over fire is just an exaggeration. I just added in a post about that in the Episode Discussion on the forums link.
If all he was about was cotton candy clouds and chocolate rain, Celestia and Luna wouldn’t have had to save Equestria from him in the first about. If eye-pokes and pratfalls were the extent of his danger, he wouldn’t have reversed the personalities of the mane characters.
And despite what he claimed, Discord was as ordered as anyone, probably more. Just look at how he reacted when Fluttershy went off script…
