Oh, huh. I didn’t know that, which is odd because DS1 was my first ever souls game and almost all of the time in my latest playthrough I was dressed in the Antiquated Set.

You mean, curse resistance?
Yeah, in ds3, armor with curse resistance turns them from a very palpable threat to something that could only beat you if you did literally nothing.
In ds1, however, there is no curse resistant armor. Instead, you need high “liquid” humanity, since humanity massively increases curse resistance.

Armor with high petrification resistance makes them a joke.
Oh yes, gotta hate those pesky Basilisks.
Why the Basilisks?
Because its a narrow area with lots of holes in the walls.
And this is Dark Souls.
