I know what you mean about being glad to see the show finish - always better for a show to be finished (and definitely not cancelled) when it’s still well-liked, rather than after it’s dragged on for so many years that everybody is fed-up to the back teeth with it. xD

it’s basically in every fandom when you think about it, hahaha. my main fandom is pokemon, and i can count the times where people already call every new game released to the world the worst thing ever. some fans just don’t like change.
 
for MLP G5, while i’m not interested in watching it, i also don’t believe it’s going to be terrible. if it turns out to be popular like with G4 all over again, i will give it a watch regardless of my worries and hopes. i’m pretty easygoing with how things go about when it comes to MLP, lol. actually, i’m even happy to see MLP G4 go. simply because i want to see it go out with a smile. if that makes sense :p

There are a lot of people who automatically assume that the new version of a show will be terrible.
 
I’ve seen it here with pre-emptive reactions against G5, and I’ve seen it multiple times over the years in the Doctor Who fandom too.

it’s all good if you’re looking forward to it friend. i guess some people aren’t looking forward to it, not because they don’t necessarily want to watch it, but it’s just an uncertainty on what g5 will be about. some people have known g4 for so long after all that they know it inside out.  
it’s always a great thing to just be that optimistic guy and look forward to a new gen though. it gives some people more certainty to watch g5. :)

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person who’s actually looking forward to G5.

g5 is gonna be terrible

is it weird that i am not afraid to see g4 end, but am afraid how g5 will turn out?  
mind you, i don’t think g5 will be terrible, not at all. my concern is more that the show will be more along the lines of “good, but kind of forgettable.”
