I have problems with Lofty for similar reasons. But that being said, there’s the possibility that Holiday and Lofty have a bit of an age gap. It happens sometimes (Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are a good example of this for a real life couple).

Like I said in many other pictures, I absolutely love their designs but I think their colour schemes from the comics are better. Now that I’ve stated (?) it again, I have to say I look forward to see them EGified (?).

I have a slight problem with Lofty, and I think it comes down to the fact that she looks kind of old. I don’t think she’s supposed to, but it ends up coming off like that and it feels odd since she’s probably supposed to be around Holiday’s age. Though I really like her mane, it’s nice to see a pattern that isn’t just straight lines or exact curves.

I can agree with you about Lofty but I think DHX’s Holiday is cuter. I like chubby ponies plus her comic design plus I agree with the other BP that she looks a bit too much like Bon Bon (or an adult Scootaloo). This new one feels a bit more unique to me.

Ehhh. I dunno. They’re not bad, but I think Lofty(?) looks a little too much like Bon Bon for my taste.  
Granted, in the show, she looks a lot First Folio.

Yes it is but these two live together and the staff has confirmed on Twitter that they’re a lesbian couple in the past.

I know this kinda pointless to ask by now, but couldn’t both of Scootaloo’s parents have sister(s)?

It’s a shame there was a continuity slip with their designs, especially when previous cases like the Pillars were kept accurate.
 
But you’re right. It’s definitely not the first time we had a mix up like this. But usually, it’s the other way around though with the comics making mistakes about existing character designs (the Griffons probably being the biggest offenders to this).
 
I’m kinda in the minority on this but I like DHX’s design for Holiday a bit better than IDW’s. I felt the same with their updated designs for the Sirens.

THo they also look nothing like their comic counterparts which just seems like a big yike to me but not the first time the team goofed continuity lol

If Alabama could ban an episode from Arthur for showing Mr. Ratburn having a gay marriage and Russia butchered all the gayness from Steven Universe, I can sadly see why the higher-ups might have requested them to be subtle about it. But even without it being too overt, it is rather obvious that the two are a couple.
