That wasn’t the point of the episode. This just hits home how you didn’t pay attention to it. It literally developed Spike’s character, which is nice considering people have denied his role as a main character for years.

But there’s nothing gained. If it wanted to be a love letter, then why not include world building or MAJOR character development? This is the final bucking season, and it can’t waste episodes on pointless stuff like this. I mean, I like the ideas presented, but there’s nothing to them. The heist idea is fun, but since there’s no danger, i’m not invested like I was with Where and Back again. The “twist” was kinda boring and the whole thing with a plastic crown is kinda dumb.

I tried to watch it all the way through, but got so bored and disinterested, i skipped around. Even the “twist” at the end wasn’t too entertaining. I’m having a bad feeling about this season

As I see it, this episode was more about character interaction and fun than it was “meat.” Plus we did get some Twilight family flashbacks, and a long-awaited attempt by Canterlot to improve its security.

I don’t get it, I thought Spike episodes got called cringe because the majority of them have Spike be unreasonably foolish or inept. Here he was competent and in character throughout.
