Since there seem to be many people who apparently didn’t hear Rainbow’s last line in that scene lol

Its a problem with she isn’t allowed to HELP stop threats at all.
Sitting on a throne is one thing but choosing to not fight a threat is really a problem.
But Luna, being imprisoned on the moon, couldn’t do anything to help Celestia and anyway, when she returned, she always stayed by her side and surely she too did her part when it came to making important decisions, since in part the burden was also hers.
Problem is its still terrible handling of the sisters.
Its still slacking off from their duty by having others do it for them(and yes, the sisters ARE protectors as shown back then so they are the kind of rulers that confront the threats).
its a big problem for Luna since she just got back from the moon. Instead of allowing her to try to make up for having Celestia bear with the burden alone and leaving Equestria hanging, she is forced to stay out of it pretty much.
Luna’s reputation will take it worse than Celestia’s.
Even if things got out of hooves, in the end the missions that the mane 6 went through were a test to see if they were ready to take that responsibility.
Doesn’t really justify the times either royal sister ended up getting defeated/captured or subdued or their magic ends up getting nullified or stolen.
Plus, maybe there was a timeline where Celestia personally stopped absolutely everything… but…

Except that in a number of those alternate continuities the princesses (or at least Celestia) or others likely did stop some of the threats, they just couldn’t stop the one that ended up winning in each time line. Each time line was also artificial in the sense that it was not supposed to exist, and the results became more random the more damaged the time line became.

not to mention, it was a canon plot point in the cutie remark that the princesses actually can’t do even when put on the spot.

Yeah, but the season 9 opener strengthened this. That, and no one shrieked at their computer screens in a fit of rage after it premiered.

The comics pointed this out five years ago.
Experience is the best teacher, Discord just adds more teasing and “trickster mentor” aspects than Celestia and Luna do.
@Joshua
I’m not sure you grasp what a punishment is.
