Well, isn’t it obvious? Rarity was the opposite of how she is normally. Her generosity turned into greed. If anything, it’s Hasbro (actually not Hasbro. They weren’t making the show) telling it’s a bad thing. Just like Applejack’s lying, Fluttershy’s bullying etc.

I know this is supposed to be sarcastic, but sadly there are definitely people out there who arrived at the same conclusion and take it too seriously.

Personally, I think it is unfair to judge Rarity based on her discorded state of mind, even if BP is right.
