just… killing’s killing and i’m not fine with killing being okay on the grounds that they’re “just clones”.
The show does not seem to share your concern.  
 
But really, it’s not like anyone actually died. The clones just returned to the inanimate objects they started as. Use the same magic again, they’d probably be back with no idea anything had even happened.

to be fair, the crystal tree did commit second-degree murder and reckless endangerment…
I don’t think eliminating weird clone things animated using changeling magic, tree limbs, and pony DNA counts as murder.
 
And reckless endangerment seems a bit much. Heck, Smolder got a tea party out of the deal.
