More importantly than the circumstances of her birth is, quite simply, the “Rule of Funny”.
Gamma is a sentient magitech construct built through drunken lesbian science shenanigans, and even her mother units have no idea how she works. I dare say common knowledge about processors and their safety measures are fairly inapplicable here :p
All processors have overheat clock reduction built in as standard. When they overheat, they get slower.

To be fair, her creators were in the middle of a drunk and/or horny stupor when they made her. Missing a couple of safety protocols is to be expected.
To say nothing of not being able simply create a reference file named “Mother Unit A2.”
