I did get the notification but since I work I can’t exactly stop and check on it every 43 minutes and 30 seconds…. which was one of the stupidest timers ever for anything. On top of that it don’t do anything other then a quick and rather quiet tone and that’s it. If I don’t hear it I will never know since I don’t check my device too often at all.
It also don’t help that you basically can’t sleep at all if you want to make it in time for the timed reward… or even have time to complete the event altogether. I didn’t even have time to complete the second part before the event ended for this last one. Between work and sleep, it’s not possible.
What annoys me is that their notifications aren’t programmed correctly. Like it should inform you during a boss fight every time that you can attack again based on the descriptions in the settings but it doesn’t. I often forget to check every two hours.
And they recently changed the notifications on when your characters finish their tasks to when all the characters finish their tasks instead of individuals, which isn’t as useful.
But even keeping that in mind, it still would have helped out a lot during the last repeat quest. If it had worked. I never received even one notification when all the characters completed their tasks.
To be fair, they have been repeating timed events for the last year or so. Not only does this give players another opportunity to get the prizes they missed but if they already got all the prizes, then they can make several hundred gems by doing the event again.
They use every character to do it. Like I mentioned, if it isn’t just a generic background character then you are mostly expected to pay on the low end of about $30-$35. Up to a max end I have seen so far being $100… more then that if you account for some characters and their gem only prices.
Because there is probably a handful of people with heavily disposable income that play the game, they will keep constantly pushing these greedy offers and events about every week. The same goes for all of the community events as well. They make them all %100 competitive when that really isn’t a good thing to do for a game targeted at kids. Then those people that always wanna have the top spot will casually spend $100+ just to secure it and keep it forever…. despite the rewards for that spot are the same all the way down to rank 100 or so.
It’s an entirely flawed game system that needs to change in some way to get away from all the spending.
There’s a reason the tag ‘greedloft’ exists on here. This isn’t even telling you the prices atm… but any character they release that isn’t just generic-background-pony-#4 is going to be expensive.
%70 off and still $40. This has been an increasing problem with the game in recent years. Between outrageous prices and constant ‘deals’ they push to super limited time events that you have no hope of completing in time without spending real money on it… to me it just seems like a dying game. Unless they stop all of this greed, no-one will want to or be able to afford to play it anymore.
@runner2
SO by what you just stated if each is $100 then
40%($60) + 50%($50) + 60%($40) + 70%($30) + 80%($20) = #200
Still $200 for 5 = $40 a character is just outrageous beyond stupidity. Really who would even spend on something that you don’t play but once in a blue moon and do really nothing but build a little town? I don’t get it.
I have all but Grandpa Gruff and Gilda. I got the other three for free through special events. I also got whatever the gift for completing the collection is, because whatever they are offering me is fifty gems. I have a feeling the gift may be Gabby. However, if I wanted to get those fifty gems, I would have to spend eight hundred forty gems. Though, technically, if I subtracted the fifty gems gift from the eight hundred forty gems I would have to spend, Grandpa Gruff and Gilda would only cost me seven hundred ninety gems. But, holy crap, that is still astronomical.
I think it’s just Gameloft trying to con more people into spending vast amounts of money on what essentially amounts to nothing.
They are charging up to $100 per new character now and it has only been getting worse over the years. I’m surprised that anyone even bothers with buying anything from that corrupt company at all.

I know… but the events are still super grindy and almost impossible to complete without spending cash or a large amount of gems to skip timers.

And they’re using griffin characters to do it. Does this feel appropriate to anyone else?
And that greedy griff that abandoned Dashie in the episode is really named ‘Gimmie Moore’?
This game and its “deals” are worldwide.

But since this is Gameloft I have only a middle finger for them.
