You are right that those notes are backwards. They were done so intentionally because that’s the way they often appear on Vinyl’s flank (here are screenshot examples screenshot1 , screenshot2 ) I must admit however that I never gave it the thought it deserves and when looking things up to make sure of your post I also noticed that on her right side Vinyl’s cutie mark often seems to be correct (here is an example screenshot ) while on her left side the notes seem to be backwards. It is a detail I had never noticed before and I am wondering if this is intentional (making Vinyl a rare example of pony whose Cutie Marks are not identical on both flanks) or it was just a mistake or (same as me) not thinking enough about it.

I don’t know if it was an accident or intended, but the eighth notes are backwards. Otherwise, it looks good.

It is certainly a tatoo that wouldn’t force you to admit to being a brony (in case you don’t want to) if it is ever seen ;)

Confession time: I have a tattoo of Vinyl Scratch’s cutie mark on my leg. I’ll probably never grow the balls to actually tell anyone that, but it’s one of my biggest guilty pleasures.
 
The coaster looks great, though. 👌🏻
