Description

Okay, a little backstory on this. I recently watch The Mysterious Mr. Enter’s video on the animation “genre”. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY5mFcArEy8 Just skip to 5:22 to hear his thoughts.

And he said he didn’t like it because it was a “stereotypical” animated movie. And it didn’t sit well with me, for I loved this flick. But I can respect his opinion on something.

Tempest on the other hand…

Honestly, out of any character in this movie, Tempest is probably the one I’d actually expect to agree with Enter.

That is if you don’t count Storm King.

Enter if you dare
Started to lose interest in him after his worst cliches list put the Disney live action remakes on it(don’t care what he says that is not a cliche) just need to respect the medium because of the remakes Gigantic got cancelled

I never liked Mr. Enter, but I used to tune in to him anyway, just to hear what he had to say. But eventually, I got sick of his condescending attitude, and his reviews sounded more and more like he was just acting spoiled and just a tad bit ungrateful, and his shaky past really wasn’t helping (I know he apologized and moved on, but still…). His “Animation Genre” video was the final straw.

Wallet After Summer Sale -

Est. 2012
At least he didn’t do an “Animated Atrocity” on the film.

Also, what does he expect from an MLP film, a slice of life comedy film similar to other family comedies like Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day?

It’s not like the action/adventure elements in the show’s first and final episodes of every season existed or anything. Right?
???T

Thing is, Enter, especially after having reviewed cartoons for a while, has difficulty fully enjoying things unless they do something a bit out of the norm. The MLP movie is a fine flick, in my opinion, but it is very safe and doesn’t do much to surprise or do something more with the material.

As for what I said of Enter, he has to believe that there is some extra merit in what he watches before he can fully allow himself to enjoy it. Many people function that way in one form or another. It is often needed for something to speak to the watcher in some way before they can enjoy it, regardless of the quality of the flick. I am not pointing fingers here or saying something is good or bad, but I want to come with the example of Star Wars and Harry Potter. Despite what it is you can be sure that people will react to it differently than most other things because of the name alone, both good and bad. When people say it doesn’t work, it isn’t because of the story itself but rather because it doesn’t fit into whatever story they enjoy in the setting, be it headcanon, fanfiction or whatever. In some cases, people believe it conflicts with what was established already, and I am not going ot go into such things, mostly because I am not a fan of either franchises myself.

To end this message with Enter, he hasn’t been with the characters for a while and doesn’t watch the show all that much these days, so the merit of feeling a connection with the characters on screen may have been lost to him, which can do a lot to the overall enjoyment of something. You get more out of it if you feel close to the characters in some way.

This was my two cents, and, sorry for the way too long comment and my rambling. To any who may be reading this, I wish you a great day.
