Gender is a societal construct informed by biology, mah dude, not some kind of fundamental . Gender norms vary widely between cultures, and from one era to another within the same culture; what constituted “manly” in 18th Century America would be seen as queer as a $3 bill in the 21st, and the fashions on display in our actual paper currency are one fairly obvious example of that.
 
…Again, I’m still not seeing how someone announcing that they’re something different than some random stranger thought they were is in any way harming that random stranger. By all means, somebody explain to me how “Person A asks to be called by he/him pronouns, Person B uses she/her instead” makes Person B any less of an asshole than “Person A says his name is Gary, Person B calls him Billy instead”. Calling people by the correct name is dirt-basic common courtesy, it matters exactly zero point nothing percent whether you think that’s a silly name or not.
