Doing something you don’t expect (which was common MLP in 1-2 seasons) and something that don’t belong to universe and don’t work in it is 2 different things.

oh I actually enjoy when they do things that don’t belong in mlp. it’s refreshing to see them trying something new, even if it doesn’t always work out well.

Even in “Canterlot Wedding” which I gues was the reason Louren Faust left the project and it was doomed since very this moment the whole idea is “if you love\friend somebody then suddenly magical BOOM will solve everything”. Compare it to “Magic Duel” which shines so brightly in very weak 3rd season that I think it was developed by Louren for the 2rd season but was not released then for some reason.
 
Technically it leads to the statment that you don’t need to think to analyze to search for solution just be friends\lovers. This is the anwer ahead of a question. If you look carefully you will see that later seasons work just like that. And people started to lose interest because everything the same. And friendship became from something personal to totalitary ideology everybody must obey. Funny thing that I saw how people wrote that Twilight’s friendship is not sincere because it’s her work to friend and forgive everybody. Friendship as service. But somehow they don’t understand that it’s direct result of the shit that was inserted in MLP since the 5th season.
 

 
If they insert in MLP hardcore porno it will be something nobody expect too. There’s tonnes of things that were inserted but don’t belong to MLP. The good example is episode with Rarity and Pinkie dealing with restaurant critic which was not just bad and stupid but directly taken from anywhere but not MLP. Technically it can be described as “characters trying to solve a problem which totally unrelated to them”. Just like me sitting right now in front of my monitor and write all this (English is not my native so it takes time) because I think that somebody in Internet may be 10000 km away from me is not right.
 
They fell in love and they died. Obviously doing nothing interesting in their life. They will never appear again. Why bother about them? The story can be writen about somebody’s life but not about somebody’s death.

well no, lots of people thought about it after apple family reunion when applejack looked at the two falling stars. but I wasn’t saying people desperately wanted to know or anything.
 
my point is it was the story about someone’s dead parents falling in love, on my little pony. not the sort of thing you’d normally expect, or be prepared for, especially not with mfking william shatner’s unbelievably gorgeous voice mourning in regret.
 
personally I’m still hoping they’re both busy being space wonderbolts.  

but… some of us watched season 7, and I wanted to point out the episodes that were actually pretty good.

but she’s an awesome psychopathic horse-bitch who does nothing beside hysterics, in episode 2!
 

well, I’m pretty sure it was “friendship is magic.” I don’t know if I’d agree it worked though, certainly not on me.

If that’s going to be your attitude, you ain’t going to be missing anything by not watching.

 
99% of all people never thought about until the episode. And they forgot about just after the episode. Because been somebody’s parent doesn’t mean to be interesting. AJ’s parents were presumbly dead since the very 1st episode why bother about them? How they deceased? That’s the only question about them that can arise. Nothing to discuss. You may be interested even in Blueblood with his couple of minutes of screen time but at least he IS existing character not abstract suggestion that AJ should had parents just because everybody have and if they’re nowhere aroud they must be dead.
 

 
But what? Season 6 explicitelly tells that now we must watch how everybody dance around psychopathic horse-bitch who does nothing beside hysterics and whose name is suspiciously similar to one of the biggest Nazi liders. This is not just about one good or bad episode (there were 2 good episode in S6 and 3-4 which can be watched without pain) this is about what MLP turned into. That’s how it works for me.
 
The point is if you mix one barrel of honey and just a spoon of a shit you’ll have a barrel of shit.
 
The problem that people usually just don’t understand what was MLP and how it worked. It was not just funny pictures with pony in chats. And “Past Sins” was not just an orphan story.

episode 2: good, glimglam at her best. great song.  
13: …heartwarmingly disturbing. ever wonder about applejack’s parents?  
14: amazing, if you like self-referential humor. if not, you’ll get horribly offended and rage quit.  
18: the riddle murdered me right in the feels, but that’s not a normal reaction. still entertaining even without that cheap shot right through my heart.  
23: had great comedic timing, definitely a good one.
 
annnd the other 21 episodes probably aren’t worth going through a lot of trouble to watch, but you might check out those 5

 
If you love something for very specific reason you will not love something else just because it was named “My Little Pony”. Especially if there is no pony.
 

 
Sure thing because Shimmer is not related to MLP. So people watched the 1st EG and din’t spend any time for other. Unlike HiMMler who was the main reason people hate the show now. Personally me stopped to watch after so called 6th season.

For the record, I happen to like Sunset Shimmer way more than I do Starlight Glimmer.
