That’s… actually a pretty cool story, brony.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I would like to remind you that due to the original Genesis floundering (with this information coyote (or cat4lyst as she is now known as) will begin genesis again as an animated fan series. The Genesis characters were public domain so there is no copyright issues, and furthermore the story behind the comparison is that one of the fans of the comic used Lights as his icon on a site, where he met a person who would later be his girlfriend and so happen to work on the MLP animation team. As an anniversary present she made sure that Lightning Dust was based off of his icon. I hope that clears it up.

Genesis had potential, but the artist pull a fan-project-flounder and gave up.
