“Rewording” is saying something in a different way. If you use different words to explain something to somebody, then that is “rewording” (like this sentence).
 
“Reword” is not actually a noun; it’s a verb. It’s used like a noun in this sentence, though. “Can you reword that for me?”
 
I didn’t understand this pun when I first read it (I Googled it), but it seems to be an intentional misspelling of “a pun is its own reward”. Either word would make this a logical and relevant sentence, so it is a pun.
