Though honestly, Pinkie actually isn’t in a very big hurry when it comes to grand-babies -but every book she’d read and movie she’d seen where a mother talks to their adult child, they’re complaining about not having any grand-kids yet, so she figures that’s something you’re supposed to do? And since she’s determined to be a Good Mom, she does her part in trying to embarrass Disco when it comes to romance.
Disco just finds the whole thing pretty funny, especially since he’s caught her taking notes when watching movies, only to start spouting the dialogue word for word a few days later.
Just as the title says: I wanted to try and draw Disco Inferno in the show style, and decided to add Pinkie to compare to/show of how she’d look in the future in my next gen ‘verse.
Pinkie was easy to draw (relatively speaking), I just grabbed a bunch of screenshots from the show and tried to copy from those. Disco was a bit more difficult due to how unique he is -in the show they portray mules almost exactly like donkeys, but I purposefully made Disco look more pony-like since he’s only one quarter donkey. So I had to make his body from scratch, by mixing parts from other ponies and donkeys, rather than being able to just base it on screenshots. So his body is Mr. Cake’s, his legs are a mix of Mr. Cakes and Cranky, his wings are edited versions of Rainbow’s, his head is the blue pony-tones stallion’s and his ears are Matilda’s. His muzzle and tail is unique though, and I’ve added other details like the chest fluff.
He doesn’t quite look like he’d fit into the show though; there’s just too many unique parts and details. So I was considering simplifying him even further, but I felt like the point of his character is to be an oddity -Pinkie being the mother, after all. So I let him be. If I do another character in this style, I’ll probably pick someone like Moonstone or Zap Apple since they’d use the default female body shape.
I got the background from fav.me/d5t0g4e made by the awesome people that’s part of MLP-Vector-Collabs
