Being alone and starving, teaching your subjects to be child soldiers, not joining your subjects when they found allies and a better source of feeding, possibly abusing your subjects, being alone and starving, having subjects that turn their back on you (not just the other Changelings but the Mane 6 clones), feeling insecure to the point you act like everyone is in the wrong but you, not having any friends or family, and being alone and starving?

“Oh, no! They’re gonna draw so much lewd of me!”

“Oh no! I’ve turned into a being with the power to defeat Celestia and able to transform into nearly anything and in control of the Changeling swarm – wait, what was the down side again?”

That’s a fan theory that was never confirmed (but one I do really love). If anything, the recent holiday special implies some of them might not be Chrysalis’ children since it seemed to show an adult Changeling couple with baby Changelings.
 
And even if they’re all her children, the idea that Occellus being the future queen and/or the idea of Occellus being afraid of being too much like her abusive mother aren’t too far fetched ideas either in my opinion.
