Does he? First I heard of it.
Regardless, it’s entirely possible for someone to pass themselves off as someone else with a wardrobe changes and an approbate shift in attitude, tone of voice and posture. Superman’s actors have been pulling it off on the big screen quite consistently – and they certainly had no magic glasses.
Or Twilight simply lacks creativity.
@Spacefrog
Sorry, but this has to leave an impression.

Her disguise was good enough.
Exactly. It’s been at least a couple of years since the cider incident at Applejack’s orchard in Season 2. They saw Rarity, but barely interacted with her directly save for an easily forgotten swoon during the song. And they certainly didn’t get her name.
And yet their response, to revealing herself as Rarity is; “who?”
Clark Kent has “magic” glasses that actively screw with a person’s ability to recognize him.
Actually, the Plainity trick did work since they actually haven’t interacted with Rarity before.
They think the same trick will work on Flim and Flam because…?
They have met her before and also in this episode.
They did not know her without the disguise, so its efficiency is still up for debate.

That’s just as paper-thin as an eyepatch, but I suppose that’s the point if you were joking.
Wear glasses and pose as a reporter.
Okay, I owe Rares an apology.
Her disguise worked.
Not that Rarity is doing any better.
