Rather straightforward: “father” is a synonym of “dad”.
 
(And also a hidden pun, because “fathers” could have ALSO replaced “feathers” in the phrase “ruffle my feathers”.)

Considering the repeated dad jokes, I don’t see how it doesn’t warrant a punch or two XD
 
 
:) I try to avoid using in these stories too much Cartoon Physics or Cartoon logic.
 
If Dash punched Pinkie, it would draw blood and damage their friendship, just like IRL.
 
It is fun to really try to think what those ponies would do, if they were real people.

Dash won’t hit Pinks for such a silly reason, but she TOTALLY will grab Pinkie and try to scare her by executing the most extreme air stunts while holding her.
 
 
…but Pinkie will just be laughing, enjoying the flight. :P
