It definitely wasn’t the best written mini-arc.
Best i was able to come up with while not doing any planning at all.
It was just for the showing of her stare thing.
The other pony was really just a random pony I made up quickly.
All other ideas I had were really just unlikely to happen that way and the part about her having the guards on her side came sadly only to me while I was writing that speech bubble^^’
I’m going to disagree, I think the way it was handled here was fine.
If that was the intention of the scene, it should’ve been kept simple: No bomb and no secret attempt from Ms. Security chief to pin the blame on another pony. Just a page of her and a bunch of armed followers approaching Ruby, telling her that it’s time for a change in leadership. Same result, less build-up that is leading nowhere.
I suspect the purpose of this little mini-arc was just to show off Ruby’s death stare power (or whatever the hell that was) and also demonstrate the lengths she’s willing to go now and how far she’s fallen from when we first met her. I don’t think the other guy’s story was ever important here.
