I don’t follow. Nearly all characters have an eye color gradient.
 
In some cases they leave the gradient dividing line very high on the iris, nearly at the top.

The color wedges appear to have been replaced by a gradient in the newer/upgraded models.

The two color wedges present in the eyes of most “cute/attractive” characters with screen closeups. Usually characters that don’t have them are assumed to be more plain-looking, or older. Many stallions don’t have them, lots of background characters don’t. Young granny smith had them, old granny smith doesn’t. On the other hand, the rest of the gold horseshoe gals have them, so it could be that they’re just updating older models that didn’t have them as they get more closeups.
 
Haves: Fancy Pants, Hoity Toity, Jack Pot, Trenderhoof, Firelight, most mares
 
Have Nots: Big Macintosh, Big Daddy McColt, Big Bucks (odd naming trend), Sunburst, Troubleshoes, most other stallions

I was giving her eye highlights a long time ago, but this is the first time I’ve seen it in the show.
