That sounds like an interesting theory. If nothing else, Pinkie’s (and the other characters’) reaction to Gummy’s adolescence should be pretty amusing.

There was an interesting fan theory a while back about Gummy not being a baby Alligator but rather a baby Cragadile. That’s why he doesn’t have teeth (since real baby Alligators have teeth). I kind of like the idea, if not so Pinkie Pie can have a rock related pet once he grows up.
