The short answer is yes, they’re really that hypocritical.
Thinking of it, wouldn’t a blatant right-wing populist like Tweets Blueblood defend Twilight’s right to found a private school independent of government regulations? I admittedly don’t know too much about the American right (the European right thinks a bit differently about the state), but “independence of (virtually all) private endeavors from state control” pretty much seems to be their thing. Or does that only apply to right-wing private endeavors? Are they really that hypocritical?

The yaks never attacked Equestria that we know of, the hippogriffs are new and have never been anything but Equestria’s allies, the griffons have decent relations with us presently despite personally being somewhat jerks on average (ask the chef who competed in the pastry competition), the dragons are very individualistic but the new Dragonlord Ember is clearly friendly to Equestria, and the changelings have apparently turned over a leaf so new they’re practically a different species. Not to mention that the students in question are all children. Neighsay is completely unjustified in his reactions.
Though I know I’m probably going to be called an alt right nazi for saying this, I find neighsays racism, while far from acceptable, at least understandable. Ponies love and tolerance for those different than them has been tested greatly of late, from monster attacks, to multiple,changeling invasions, to the storm kings sacking of the Capitol that left citizens enslaved to foreign creatures. These are the kind of environments where racism thrive, when fear and hurt leads to a intense hatred of the “other”.
In fact that is where I disagree with Neighsay. He attacked allies, not hostiles.
Especially when the “everyone” in this case were their allies, not their rivals.
Nothing protects your interests like having no hostile foreign powers to deal with.*
*As of a single week so far in universe.
How so? You can protect your own interests without degrading everyone else.
Nothing released so far (and boy do a lot of things were released) indicate that we will see him in season 8.Granted,his name not appearing in the synopsis is not an indicator of complete absence
It seens like EEA only tell Twilight not to let it be quiet, or nothing to protect.
EEA told her to do a war, in my option, not protect Equestria instead…
Indeed. And to be honest the right and the left are similar in that regard.
That’s not a problem unique to them, though. The concept of a vocal minority is well known. Heck, it even applies to our fandom.
As someone who has dealt with racism, generally racism is a combination of factors that turn into collective rejection. More often than not starts in childhood as an excuse for being a jerk with a kid. Often the most vile kid will inspire such racism on others to cover the fact that he is bullying someone else…
BTW, I am white and I experience racism.
And honestly, that’s how real-world racism usually is. It’s rarely “can’t stand being in the same room with <disfavored race>, attack them on sight,” it’s a bunch of preconceptions that fuel a continuous lean against their interests. The racist can often convince themselves that they’re not doing any such thing.
Neighsay probably thinks he shut the school down because of violations of EEA protocol. Had he not been racist, the school might have been given a warning and time to clean up its act; maybe, maybe not.
The problem is they are the loudest and most visible. Not to mention rarely disavowed by others.
That exactly what mathprofbrony was saying. The interests of the EEA served as justification for Neighsay’s racist views (in Neighsay’s mind anyway).
American liberals are not all censorship-happy commies either. Sure, there are select individuals within the group who do take those extreme stances, but you can’t generalize the entire lot of them as that.

You are looking at things through a bias.
@Dragon-Commando
Indeed.
@mathprofbrony
No. But he felt his racism was validated. In fact he intended to lock the place the moment Rainbow Dash lost her students.
@cloudkicker108
Well. Most people use “liberal” in the context of American liberals. But trust me there are places where the nonsense done by such people is seen as conservative because it is the status quo.
When used negatively, yes. But the term “liberal” does not in itself denote that. To claim that all liberals are censorship-happy commies is a massive disservice to them.
@mathprofbrony
That’s pretty much how I interpreted his behavior.
Maurice LaMarche (the voice actor) has confirmed Neighsay is coming back, but didn’t say when.
