I do dip over there on occasion but I’ve admittedly grown to not like the main cast of characters as much as I once did.
I’ve dealt with a lot of people getting bias over me in my life so them constantly getting to just walk away from consequences with only their guilt while repeatedly canon and non canon characters end up biting bullets has made me apathetic to a good deal of the stories there.
I’m bitter and I’ll admit it, but it’s for a reason I’m loathe to buckle on.
You should read the stuff on fim fiction I think you would like how a lot of writers try to make it that serious.
True but being completely dependent on them doesn’t lend much faith in longevity. Only one of them is feasibly immortal, and most of their villains haven’t had the common sense to seperate or kill one of them.
In any setting remotely more serious then the show itself it’s a glaring weakness that really isn’t used because of tropes rather then a justifiable reason.
To be fair they do kind of have a civilian formed rainbow six team thing that fights the bad guys, starswirl and his crew, then twilight and her friends, and now Starlight and her suicide squad force. The last looks to my guess get a new member in the form of tempest in the coming season.
Unfortunately it’s what the standard infantry fought in during the Sombra war as well from what we saw.
The full plate was left to rot so I’m of the opinnion Equestria’s fallen into the trap of fools pacifism rather then actually practicing a neutral state.

I agree their the sombra war time line armor is probably the real battle armor, that or the spiky full plate the showed in the halls of the castle in ever free. What we know as common guard armor is obviously parade set.
If the armor used by the guard and bolts was up to par with even cheap reenactment gear I’d agree but it’s based off the rather shoddy horse armor IRL.
With them being the actual target in combat and altogether more flexable and mobile then an actual horse their armor covers literally nothing important.
Granted I agree with rainbow on that point. But sunset is accomplished mage, was a savant in magic and her talent is the ability to use dark magic with “reduced” backlash from it. That said can you name one guard or bolt that you would trust to clear a shed?
But on that note Rainbow might not be the best in structured combat but she be good to have in out right brawl or skirmish.
To which my response is Dash is both exceptionaly inept in structured combat, and has proven herself shortsighted beyond measure.
I wouldn’t follow her into a dark room much less into combat.

Medieval tournaments usually ended in an event they called “melee”. Basically the knights would separate into two teams, and then proceed to beat the yay! out of each other in a mass combat to see which side was tougher.
There is also something called projecting confidence like rainbow dash dose. Maintaining a demeanor like that is also used to self encourage ones self.
I’m aware, but arrogance makes someone worthless in my eyes. To many people seem to think acting pridefuls a good thing and she doesn’t drop that demeanor out of uniform so she genuinely holds it to some degree.
No it’s the fact she wants them to surprise her to become better then her. She’s making them hate her so they will prove she’s wrong about them. It’s a staple of drill instruction. Be the meanest scariest bully ass whole they ever seen, brake them down then put them back together better then the they ever where.
That’s why they say make a solider out of them and not teach them to be soldiers. Not just any one can be a solider.
I’m the kind of person that’d tell you to eat shit and leave.
That attitude doesn’t garner respect, since it leads to overconfidence in your soldiers.

actually its probably a really clever move to motivate them enough to show her wrong she’s always beating them up so this motivates them to train extra hard so they can beat HER up
