The adult dragons we’ve seen in the past might have been more feral and seculsive due to hoarding. Kind of like what nearly happened to Spike. Ember’s dad didn’t seem to be like that so perhaps he doesn’t hoard as much or has overcome that kind of feral-like instinct.

well from what we learned is that most dragons are loners and from what little adults dragons we see are somewhat feral and keep to themselves, hoarding and sleeping for long periods of time. as for the teenage dragons we kinda know what there like not including ember

Judging from the dragons we’ve seen, I wouldn’t put cannibalism off the table. The only reason Spike would be wierded out is because he was raised by ponies. Then Ember shows up and tells him, yeah, there’s a reason there are so many teenage dragons and so few adults.
