Twilight: everything is gone!Stupid hasbro! me as a Earth pony? is impossible to use magic! can’t use magic now! ?! Can’t use Magic?! But this who i am! this is it! i kill my self!
Am I the only one who thinks the Starlight Glimmer Drama went too far?
As someone who finds Starlight annoying and feels she has dragged down the show: yes. Nothing clicking Drama and getting pages of Starlight. But this fandom has never known when enough is enough
Nm yeah I shouldn’t bother with that image. i guess I should have done more lines of the copy pasta but I got bored. Its sort of about the cyclical nature of things.
Usually the only copy pasta I bother with is doom repercussions of evil

How so ? I re-read my comment thrice and there is nothing contradictory or opposite. In fact, let me try to break it down to you
“Dude there is litteraly no reason to be sad when it lasted a decade/G4 will still exist and G5 dont make it magically dissapear.MLP always changed Gen every decade since the 1980s.”
“It had a good run lenght wise like lets say for example Regular Show or Adventure Time.Normally, that just give them enough time to turn the stones that arel eft unturned (Spike and Scootaloo parents, who is Celestia and Luna ,the baby destiny) and we can kiss them goodbye/[Nothing in the second comment about this subject]
“Staff probably want to distance themselves from adult fans who leake their stuff twice (and it’s not a bad thing).Grow up” That’s maybe this sentence who bothered you but since they got hacked twice i theorize that DHX staf is presently letting a collective sigh of relief at the idea of starting on a clean slate and distance themselves off the adult fans like some leaked emails partaining to the DVD Comments strongly suggest
tl;dr a lot of people (In both fandom and inner staff circles) are relieved it come to an end and at the very least dont become the next Simpsons and that they can throw a pudic veil on a decade worth of fandom drama and low-blow from the two sides
Hope that dissipated your fear that i’m a “sockpuppet”

Hardly. I doubt G5 will be better than G4, and really think it won’t even be as good as G4. But I do think it will be good. What they’re proposing is not Muppet Pony Babies. It is a legitimate new generation of MLP. And as BP #D092 said, we all knew eventually there would be a G5. Eventually G4 is going to decline, the voice actors will move on to other projects (supposedly Andrea already wanted to), everyone involved will move on to other things, and we’ll have a G4 that has less in common with the show we love than even the proposed G5. Given that, it’s better to end G4 while it’s still great and replace it with something different, than run it into the ground and end it because it’s ruined. And better to get a decent G5 with a chance of a different greatness than only cling to the wreckage of a once-great G4. Maybe they could keep G4 fresh through Season 10 or 11 or 12, and I wouldn’t complain if they did change plans and keep it around a few seasons more. But, eventually, it will have to end. If that happens at the end of S09, then that’s when it happens. Fighting to make sure it dies of a heroin overdose and soils itself on stage because they didn’t know when to retire it is not something worth fighting for. It would be far worse to watch it embarrass itself staying around too long, than wondering if it would have stayed good another season or two.
As to getting rid of Applejack in G5, I don’t think that’s a bad idea. Really, it’s probably a better idea than keeping the rest of the Mane Five. My Rainbow Dash will always be G4 Rainbow Dash. My Twilight will be G4 Twilight. Seeing Fluttershy as a unicorn is jarring. Twilight as an earth pony is even worse. (Pinkie Pie as a pegasus works though. And Rainbow Dash, there’s no question that after G4 she’s going to be a pegasus.) I’d rather not see the same Mane Cast as different characters. Though I can see why they’re revamping the same characters, to capitalize on name recognition and toys still on the shelves. I don’t hate them for it. I hope they do it well. But MLP going back to the beginning had a lot of other ponies they could recycle, without coming so close to being a direct reboot of G4 before G4’s body is even cold. I think rebooting some of the ponies from past generations now mostly forgotten, and some of the current background cast (many of whom are rebooted G1/G2/G3 ponies), into a whole new show would be better. And beyond any reasonable doubt, getting rid of Applejack altogether is a much, MUCH better idea than making her an “urban bad girl” with some contrived redemption arc just to keep her around. The show needs that like it needs an episode about coathanger abortions. One of the most magical things about G4 is that Rarity wound up so lovable, when the expectation was that she’d just be Alexandra from Josie and the Pussycats, only with four hooves. Doing the exact opposite of that with Applejack and making her a bitch would suck. It would be using emo crap self-insertion fanfic in lieu of actual screenwriting. Fighting to make thatNOT happen is worthwhile. But fighting to keep her if that may be her fate, not worthwhile. But yes, keeping Applejack around as something else not yet proposed could be better than killing her off, as long as they can come up with something good. And I think they could. There’s still time to make a better Applejack, if the leaks are the total of what’s there now.
@Background Pony #CFAD
Or maybe people would rather the show end on a good note instead of it going on and on until it becomes a shell of its former self like many long running shows do (like The Simpsons for example).

Everyone is ok because new concept sounds better? Is it so hard to get? Especially seeing writers now know what works and what doesn’t (and lets be honest for a second here, US redneck never fit the show any so new AJ can be only better).
This makes me really sad. Not because of the leaks and that they are killing off our beloved show, but because everyone seems to be accepting it as everything burns. Didn’t the fandom fight to keep Derpy alive and it was due to “surprise fandom” that it didn’t kick the can in season 3? Why is everyone so ok with the current path the show has taken? I was hopeful that they would go full Arthurian with lore and the round table. I am really sad now…

MLP has kind of always been about the toys.
It’s no longer about alicorns, Starlight Glimmer, or Applejack. It’s an endless series of plastic toys, bought by little girls and grown men.
Mlp–and it’s consumption of toys–has become a well-oiled machine.
Mlp has changed.
