my head cannon was that a normal G4 pony is around a meter from ear to hoof. that makes them around ~1/3 the size of a Human

No. We’ve got multiple different concept designs for each of the Mane 6 (along with some new characters, including new species like Longmas). We don’t really have an exact design set in stone for them just yet. We don’t know how big they would be compared to humans either.
