Friendship is Magic isn’t a mature rated show. Bayformers isn’t G1, Kamen Rider Amazons isn’t Kamen Rider Ghost and live action Josie and the Pussycats isn’t the original Hannah-Barbera cartoon.
 
Just because MLP could conceivably generate a different work with a higher rating doesn’t mean that mature material could be fit into the current show.

Although sure, they’re for older kids and such and they’re different shows, but they’re still for kids too.
 
And people don’t seem to realize it when nobody complains about the PG-13 rating of Power Rangers 2017, Josie and the Pussycats Live Action and the Bayformers films nor the violence in Kamen Rider Amazons and The Next, nor the otaku-ness and fanservice in Akibaranger or some non-kid-friendly shit in Osomatsu-san.

Mlp is not a mature show. Incest is an INHERENTLY mature topic. MLP will not EVER cover such a topic. Mlp dipping it’s toes lightly in other so called controversial/“mature” topics does not suggest in any way that this particular topic would be covered under any conceivable situation.

I too would like to just dismiss the possibility,but there is a precedent in the show with giving nods,nudges and references to “controversial” concepts and with the patterns of contemporary media,as such unfortunately such a topic like incest could make a small showing in some form. It would be no big deal for many watchers and probably go unnoticed or unconsidered. As such I personally wouldn’t dismiss the possibility.

I’m not a fan of incest and I hope it doesn’t appear on the show, but If they play it the way they have with other potently controversial concepts already mentioned,towing the line and never actually mentioning it outright then I see nothing to prevent it from being implemented that way if the show wanted to.Most likely as a joke at most yes,that’s what they did with the Cakes infidelity joke but I’m certain they have less restrictions than you would think to taking it farther than that.
