Aw, thank you! :-) If I understand your question correctly, I discussed possible ideas with IDW and then drew this cover art exclusively for them.
They have been turning to submissions from fandom artists for at least a year now. I know of at least 3 others for sure (Pixel Prism, Nanook123, and Pencils). They are usually the RI (retailer incentive) cover for the main series.
They actually accepted a fan work or a cover? That’s great! Congratulations to dSana—it could not have happened to a better person! Let’s hope they’re so impressed that they ask her for a Spike/Twilight comic now!
