On a side note rip multiple headcanons especially the Twilight is starswirl’s reincarnation headcanon that was strangely popular.

I know, right? It’s kind of weird. The only times we’ve ever seen him up until this point were in flashbacks that were in different art styles or in the comics which are semi-canon.
I especially look forward to having an official look for Starswirl. Weird how he was always the least consistently depicted character in the whole franchise.
While I don’t think they’re going to be sent back in time, I also don’t think that they’re going to stick around in Ponyville either. Chances are they’re going to go back to their old homes, and maybe even once again try to contribute to Equestrian society. It’s been a LONG time since they’ve disappeared: their life stories have pretty much faded into myth. Starswirl is considered the archetype of what a good wizard should be, Somnambula had a statue erected and a town named after her, Mage Meadowbrook has a descendant and a lot of botanical research she left behind.

Come to think of it, the edition after that will be Rockhoof and Meadowbrok working together, so this problably gives an ideia of what will happen in the end, or it happens before legends of magic 7

I fail to see how Starswirl being alive or the Pony of Shadows being an actual entity are problems the finale is bringing up. It’s not like any of the existing lore is being contradicted by the introduction those elements. In fact, they would only further expand upon lore by addressing many of the unanswered questions surrounding them.

What’s the issue? I see nothing wrong with this premise.
Yeah, I get it, but somehow I think that they’re going to finagle an outcome where they go back to a different timeline or something so that this one doesn’t get messed up.
