we need more wonderbolt twilight!

but being a fast and skilled flyer is very luck based aswell. RD for example doesn’t even practice that much and she can do rainbooms and stuff. if she didn’t have the right cutiemark/destiny she could practice day and night and wouldn’t get anywhere near the wonderbolts’ requirements

Letting an alicorn into the Wonderbolts would probably undermine the entire point of the Wonderbolts. It’s an elite flying team for those that worked their way to the top and earned their flight skill, not for those who were fortunate enough to be born into the right circumstances. The Wonderbolts’ goal is to show that everypony can be awesome should they put in the time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears to hone themselves to their peaks.
 
Having an alicorn on the team would send the wrong message to their audience. Because being an alicorn isn’t something you can earn on your own merits; there’s a pretty enormous amount of luck involved, and it’s a very exclusive pony race that is largely impossible to, uh, join.
