Two things I loved about this scene:  
A: There’s a changeling somewhere on screen who makes a cute noise as they fly by.  
B: The little blue changeling sitting by the throne. ‘Hullo, I am modest bug horse, give me your soup and cuddles’.

On the contrary I adore Thorax, and his being the cutest male character to grace the show. Hell, I like this show because of the cute things. World is depressing as shit man, fill it up with diabeetus. Certainly was not using cinnamon roll negatively.
 
I was just making a point that, by himself, Thorax’s way of leading isn’t stable (and is the exact opposite of how Chrysalis ruled). He’s great at focusing on the delicate, personal relations side of things, but lacks in regiment, organization, strength, etc. That’s the whole purpose of Pharynx’s character, to counter balance what Thorax lacks.

Also ‘cinnamon roll’ as a negative metaphor is pretty absurd because those things are delicious.

I’m talking personality not appearance, Pharynx is definitely not a cinnamon roll, he’s a warrior. He’s going to balance Thorax’s love with strength - keeping the swarm strong and vigilant, in the same way Thorax has helped the swarm discover friendship, hobbies, interests, etc.

so it’s a good thing Pharynx became a cinnamon roll too,  
just like Luna before him.  

A lot of people didn’t like how nice they are. Well that’s because their king is a cinnamon roll. That’s why Pharynx got introduced.
