Uhhh going by just about every panel Rarity is one of the most popular ponies among the staff, hell Larson who wrote this episode has repeatedly listed her as his favorite, freakign Faust has said she’s the character she’s most proud of, AKR and I think it was Fullerton have talked about how fun she is to write.
 
 
Rarity had an episode in season 3 (that’d be Spike at your Service) but they thought it made her look bad so they gave it to Applejack instead.
 
Last few seasons she’s had so many stars or co-stars that people were complaining about her being overexposed.
