I hear Sean Astin (voice of Raph) is a brony, due to having several daughters who love the MLP show. Rob Paulson (voice of Don) also expressed he might watch the show, or even try to get a job doing a voice, sense he’s friends with Tara Strong, and interviewed her on his web show where he interviews voice over actors. (He also said he was in the old G1 MLP cartoon.)
 
As for the “April being completely wrong,” this is a different version of TMNT. She doesn’t always have to be a “news reporter,” (in fact in the original comics she wasn’t) or something.  
So that means they’re going to have slightly different versions of the characters, which is something I welcome personally. It’d be a bit dull if every continuity was the same.  
(Would you like MLP:FiM if it was like G3?)
 
I think the new TMNT show is pretty good personally, a li’l more comical then the 2003 show, but it still has it’s darker/serious moments to.  
My only gripe is some of the mutant monster designs look a li’l goofy to me though. Especially “Spiderbite’s.” (Though, I guess they’re trying to be more “creative” with the designs.) I hope they’ll have a few anthropomorphic mutants personally like the old ’80s/’90s show did.

I’m an old school turtle fan and I find that this series has its good moments and its bad, just like the original and as long as it keeps the turtles alive for another generation I’m all for it.
