Here’s something fun to consider; if the thought of her being dead and gone is sad, just consider that all of MLP could very well be a story told about the past from the perspective of some historian or something decades, centuries, or even millenia after all the characters are dead (except for Twi, if she’s immortal and all. Was it McCarthy who just up and Tweeted at some point “she won’t outlive her friends”? Did she really think that through? Because that means either Twi’s not immortal/super-long-lived like the other alicorns, or her friends are all going to become alicorns… If you accept that Tweet as canon)
There’s a possibility we could see her again in future episodes: As part of more stories told by Burnt Oak or Mrs. Cake (or maybe Mayor Mare or anypony else who was alive during their time.)
Yeah. She’s cute.
I still want her to be alive.
No. It’s very hard to accept, but that’s all the more reason why she needs to be left dead.
IRL, you never give up. But in fiction, death is cheapened far too much.
I think it also lends some very important perspective:
I just saw this
And it made me think; holding your breath in water is obviously a survival instinct. She’s doing something to avoid death. But as we all know, it ultimately comes, anyways. So what does it matter she lived a little longer, if she’s just as dead now?
Big Mac, Applejack, and Applebloom. That’s how it matters.
We may forget our ancestors, but we can never forget one thing they did for us: brought us to life. In a world that places less and less reverence and respect on families and prodigy, I think giving us something to think about like this is extremely important. If you care only about yourself, you will die and your life will disappear to history and mean nothing. But if you have children, your legacy will live on. Only very few ever get the opportunity to change the world in another lasting way. You’re more likely to win a lottery.
An important point in an increasingly narcissistic society.
At least that’s how it makes me think.
Everyone should have to ask difficult questions. Face them head on and answer them. Then you’ll find some direction in life. The longer you run and hide, the longer it will take you to find answers, and the less time you’ll have to go the direction you find when you do answer them.
Or what’s left of her flesh…
At a cemetery
She showed up on this site.
