Aye, I almost had a similar situation.
 
Someone I loved, I wrote a story for them. Was 4 hours straight of me half crying over my keyboard. Problem was, I was typing in-browser and one time when I hit backspace, it went back a PAGE and I lost everything.
 
The following night, I knuckled down and wrote it all again.
 
Got to tell me how they loved it, not long before death came for them.

It’s especially sad Grand Pear (William Shatner pony) never even got to make peace with his daughter, and son-in-law. Though, by making peace with Granny, he kinda finally did.
 
Y’know, forgive me for being sappy, but the night before my Dad went into the hospital, (last time he would ever be home) I was thinking of watching a DVD movie with him we both liked together… But then I thought, “Eh, we can do it tomorrow night.”  
While not quite the same, I still regret it to this day. Please be sure to spend time with those you care about. You never know what the future holds.

Such is the condition of love.
