They didn’t have hate drilled in them, (Bloom was even naive to the whole pear issue) they just didn’t want the jar of preserves to upset Granny. There was also no erasure of their Mother, she was just never regarded on-screen until recently. It’s likely they still missed her, and Granny seemed to care about her too, after her father disowned her. (She’s seen comforting her during that scene.)

Except she didn’t. The apple kids still had pear hate drilled into them, had no idea their mother was a pear, and their parents apparent suicide and erasing all traces of their mother all kind of suggest they weren’t really accepted into apple family either…

Ironic, in that it was Grand Pear who disowned his daughter, with Granny Smith accepting her as part of the Apple clan.
