That’s the thing; Granny was actually the first of the two to say it was an outlandish thing for them to get married. She was only okay wit hit because Pear Butter was renouncing her life as a Pear. Had it been Bright Mac renouncing his life as an apple, it may have been Granny who instead was rejecting them from her life.

The thing that makes this even sadder is that this could’ve and probably was, Grand Pear’s last interaction with his daughter before she died.
 
I can’t help but to feel bad for the poor guy.
 
I also like how Granny comforts her new daughter in law despite her previous feelings. Very sweet of her.

Think about it. Chances are, Pear Butter died without ever making peace with her father. She never got her father’s blessing to get married. And Grand Pear’s last memory of his daughter was disowning her and making her cry at her wedding.

this little part was great! unlike Grand Pear Granny puts her rivalry with the pears aside to try and cheer her daughter in law up. Considering we don’t see Granny’s parents in this episode we could assume they passed away and related to Butter pear essentially losing her family. Or Granny didn’t want to cause more grief for Butter Pear after she made such an difficult choice.

Yeah. Pear Butter’s mane is Big Mac’s mane and Applejack’s coat. Granny Smith’s mane is Applejack’s. Bright Mac’s mane is Big Mac’s coat.
 
And… well, Apple Bloom is a alternate sex clone of her father.

Where did Applejack get her orange coat (Pear Butter’s is too pale)? And where did Big Mac get his red coat?
 
I am guessing Bright Mac’s father and Pear Butter’s mother.
 
None of Applejack’s parents are blonde so it obvious that’s from Granny Smith.
