Wasn’t Henry VIII the reason England dumped the Royal Catholic Church, since they didn’t allow divorce and he needed a legitimate son for an heir?
 
Though perhaps you could maybe think he had true motives - good of England and all that - on the other hand it just means someone else would take the throne after him, which weakens his own power a bit, but maybe he should’ve “taken one for the team” and appointed a non-bloodline heir instead of making innocent wives “take one for the team”…
 
Tbh I barely know the history, but do know a little bit about how power works :q
