After seeing the non-shadowy one it spines right when I saw it spin left but then it spun left again for me.
Edited
Um, no,she is spinning left. That’s what I have been saying.I didn’t even see the episode so there was no influence from that.
To be fair, the non-shadowy animation has her spin counterclockwise on her right hoof, whereas in the shadowy animation I can either see her spin clockwise on her right hoof or counterclockwise on her left hoof. And I will repeat my comment about Twilight missing her horn. Clearly, there was more to it than painting the model black.
Edited
That’s hilarious because that’s the way she actually spins. You’re unable to see her going the direction she is actually going.
And like with every other detail people claim makes it impossible, I focus her spinning one way, track it, it works. I make her spin the other way, focus on it, still works. Maybe my brain is literally overwriting what my eyes are seeing to make it work but I can’t see even a tiny crack of light that I shouldn’t be at any point in time.
Edited
The illusion works if some people see Twilight turn clockwise and others see her turn counterclockwise. Your personal ability to experience both senses of rotation, whether at random or voluntarily, isn’t relevant to the illusion working, even “for you”.
Agreed. The original illusion works wonderfully with me, but with the ear points, wing points, tail position (edpecially counting the tail gap you can see legs through), feather points, and tutu tilt it just doesn’t work here.
I still don’t see any issues. When I focus on making her spin clockwise (Again, I focus on her nose, at the start of a turn you think of it as going behind her head, so if you do so when it’s on the right she goes counterclockwise, when it’s on the left, she goes clockwise, then the illusion persists in that direction until I break visual contact with the image, either by looking away, blinking or scrolling), no matter what part I track, it still all works for spinning in that direction. Clockwise, she’s spinning on her right leg, counterclockwise, she’s spinning on her left leg, either way the illusion holds solidly even when attempting to scrutinize how it should be going.
Edited
There is also the direction the wings point. When the feathers are to the right, the tail is on the right side. When the wings point at you the tail is at you.
The nose is very effective, yes. By focusing on her head, just by blinking, I can make her fully oscillate, reversing direction on every half-spin.
no, I see like everybody else, it’s just my brain that has a better understand of where things are place in the environment
@Kedke1
Wait, you can see time? (time is the 4th dimension).
I assure you it’s all I’m your head. If you focus this can spin in either direction
The left/right leg thing is why I prefer to focus on the nose. I don’t have to change its identity, just its position.
It should also work with her horn… if she had one. That’s odd. Her horn was clearly visible in the original animation, not hidden by her hair or anything.
Same, but we can do the reverse as well, I can “force” Twilight to always face us the viewer. as long as you can force Twilight to create a mirror image of herself, you essentially change her direction.
Note that when she’s spinning clockwise, she’s pivoting on her right leg and her right arm is stretched upwards, but when she’s rotating counter-clockwise she’s rotating on her left leg and her left arm is stretched upwards.
Focus on her nose and will it to always disappear >> behind << her head.
I had to use my peripheral vision before, and “hopes” it change direction when I wasn’t looking, but now I control it almost at will!
yeah i had to look away at a particular time and sorta force it while it was in my peripheral vision, sometimes it’d switch back, sometimes it wouldn’t.
