Artist’s Description
 
After a rather emotional restless night, Bubble began to hear seagulls squawking outside, sunlight pouring in through the windows. She reached with her arm, but felt that the sleeping mass of muscle that was Mako had gone. Her eyes opened wide and sat up from her spot on the couch..Did..he leave…?She sat up and saw she was covered with a blanket, supposedly left by Mako. The smell of coffee reached her and she turned to see Mako in the kitchen.
 
Bubble: sighs relief
 
Mako: turns around Oh, you’re up…morning. Tries to put on his best smile, but looks like he didn’t sleep well.
 
Bubble: gets up and guess into the kitchen, stretching Of thank the goddesses, you’re still… I mean.. I thought that maybe…. Ears fold back as she sits by the counter
 
Mako: Uuh… no… I still don’t know if I really……. I haven’t decided yet.. gives Bubble a cup of coffee
 
Bubble: starts silent for a bit, taking the coffee from Mako I understand.. It’s a big choice to make.. sips her coffee and ponders … Do you…want to talk about it?
 
Mako: nods as he sits down, drinking some of his coffee. He’d scratch the back of his head a little … I’m a bit confused, really… this is an opportunity I haven’t had in forever.. but I’m not sure I want to take it. I mean, I should be excited but… I’m not..
 
Bubble: tilts her head Why not? Do you not think you’ll be able to keep up or something? Thinking it’s a physical worry, since he was so tired after hunting with the pod
 
Mako: A little, bit that’s not really my main concern.. I want to go, but I don’t want to…. To… blushes a little …leave you behind..
 
Bubble’s ears perked as she stared at him, her cheeks slowly turning pink before letting out a little chuckle, taking a sip out of her mug.
 
Bubble: It’s just.. Funny. I was worried about going to college for the same reason. I didn’t want to leave you behind. I like you Mako.. blushes deeply .. I-I like the times we spend together and I wish summer break would never end.
 
Mako: blinks at her, his cheeks getting a bit more pink, smiling a bit It’s definitely been the best summer I’ve had in a long time.. I really like you.. a lot. Smile fades Making this kind of hard.. I don’t want to just up and leave. Not after this..
 
Bubble: ear twitches, her body reacting and reaching out to touch his hand comfortingly.
 
This was never meant to be forever.. She wasn’t supposed to get attached.. Bubble gave Mako’s hand a squeeze, looking up at him.
 
Bubble: …. I’ll wait for you. If you decided to go for however long.. a year or even more. I’ll wait for you to come back and we can just.. pick right back up where we started.
 
Mako: looks up at her, slightly surprised… he didn’t expect her to do that for him…but he could tell she meant it. … I couldn’t ask for anything more..
 
Bubble: smiles, getting a little serious As long as you don’t go and do anything stupid.. eyes weaseling down a little
 
Mako: eyes go wide for a second as he blushed even more Oh-heheheh of course not. I wouldn’t do that. I’m sure if I just tell the pod “no touchy” ..
 
Bubble: sips coffee Mmm… I was more thinking of you getting eaten or lost at sea.. but I suppose you are heading to their mating grounds…. As she looks over to the side, a slight grumble to her voice
 
Mako: tail flops to the floor with a loud THUD Th-that was actually my main concern.. mostly because one of the males kept pulling my tail during the hunt yesterday…. An awful lot… * blushes and sips coffee, not really letting his tail being touched*
 
Bubble: mumbles quieter Mmm, probably wanted to see how high it could lift… coughs into her fist and clears her throat B-b-but that isn’t any of my concern. I mean.. orcas are polyamourous after all.. ear twitching, lying a little
 
Mako: Well, maybe but I wasn’t exactly…brought up that way..
 
Bubble: has a little grin Mmm, that’s…good to know.. shakes her head B-but we are off topic! What are some other concerns you have? Trying to change subject before she starts blushing even more than she already is
 
Mako: Uhm… the only other thing I guess is trying to keep up, heheh.. But maybe the time in the water would be good.. I never did properly get my Sea Legs.
 
Bubble: chuckles I guess that’s something you’d have to talk to the pod about… See of it’s possible to take things slower until you build up the endurance.
 
Mako: I asked them about it briefly yesterday. They said we’d be making stops to rest because of my “Noodle Legs” heheheh… the only other question I probably might ask is about what to do to sleep..
 
Bubble: blinks at him …. Hmmm… I’m not sure, since I’m sure there won’t be land for days at a time.. Maybe they are like otters, and holds hands while sleeping so they don’t drift away from each other..
 
Mako: Snickers Now that would be an interesting thing to see. Drinks more coffee … no doubt there will be more pods.. makes me wonder just how many.
 
Bubble: Nerissa mentioned that her pod has interacted with a few in the past…. Maybe you would get to see more… who knows, maybe find your old pod too..
 
For a brief moment, Mako blinked and saw the blurred fainted image of two seaponies looking at him.. Their faces were dark and unclear and their voices muffled. He opened his eyes..
 
Mako: Huh…maybe.. sipping his coffee
 
Bubble: sits silent for a bit
 
Mako: looks up at her Something wrong..?
 
Bubble: looks up, having a half smile Well.. I was just thinking about what Nerissa said.. About how a pup could find their father by some magnetic means… if.. If you did find your pod, l-like half-siblings or something like that… I would understand if you want to stay…
 
Mako: ears perked a little bit then they went back down.. Well knowing the odds of that happening were a million to one by this point.. Well.. We don’t know yet.. It would be cool, if it did happen, heheh…
 
Bubble simply nodded and smiled, finishing her coffee. She got up and walked around the counter to the sink. Her long tail dragged behind her, draping over Mako’s as she washed out her mug. Mako stayed sitting, fiddling with his mug. Feeling Bubble’s tail on his, he lifted his off the ground and coiled it around her legs. Bubble looked down and smiled. After she finished at the sink, she turned around and wrapped her arms around Mako from behind and hugged him, nuzzling his cheek.
 
Mako: smiles and puts a hand on her arms, nuzzling back Heheh. I’ll make sure to bring back a souvenir… ears perked up as a thought came to him …. Actually.. can you do, one more thing for me?
 
Bubble: tilts her head Anything.
 
Mako got up from his seat and pulled away to go upstairs. After a bit he came back down with the necklace he wore to dinner with Bubble’s parents, and a few more times when hanging out.
 
Mako: I want you to hold onto this..
 
Bubble tilted her head, greatly confused. Mako loved this necklace, having received it as a gift from his old mentor before he passed.
 
Bubble: …Wouldn’t it be safer here?
 
Mako: smiles a bit Heheh.. Maybe. But, I want you to hold onto it…so you know I’ll be back.
 
Bubble: face turns pink as a smile stretched across her face. Gently she’d reach out and take the pendant, putting it on I’ll take good care of it, in that case.~
 
Mako: smiles and puts a hand to her cheek before giving her a kiss on the lips, wrapping his tail around her
 
Bubble: kisses back, wrapping her arms around his shoulders gently Hmmm.. I’m missing you already..
 
Mako: chuckles, bringing her in closer Well.. They said they wouldn’t be leaving for a few more days.. Why not make the best of it?
 
Bubble: Heheheh~ You took the words right out of my mouth. Pulls Mako in for another kiss
 
 
The next few days, the two spent their time mainly just on their own together. When time came for the pod to leave, Mako and Bubble stood at the beach. Mako wore just swim shorts.. There was no way he was going naked… the pod waited out on the deeper waters, letting Mako say goodbye to Bubble.
 
Bubble: sniffles You better promise me you’ll be safe and not do anything rash…or stupid… glares over his shoulder at Nerissa
 
Mako: chuckles Everything will be fine.! I’ll be back before you know it..
 
They locked eyes for a moment before giving one more deep kiss farewell for now.. Mako stepped further into the water before jumping in swimming for the pod.
 
Nerissa looked at Bubble as Mako got closer, catching sight of the pendant around her neck…. That wasn’t there before.. Was it?
 
Male orca 1: Snickers Hey Squirt, you gonna be okay without your mate?
 
Mako: Huh? wondering why he didn’t say “Brood mare” again…not that he was complaining Mate?
 
Nerissa: She is wearing a charm, yes? You gave it to her?
 
Mako: Yeaaaaah…why?
 
Nerissa: In the Orca pods, it’s a tradition that the male gifts his mate or mates with a charm. So she must be your mate now, yes?
 
Mako: blinks a couple times…. His tail wagged under the water before he turned to look back at Bubble. She waved at him, and he waved…his cheeks turned pinker and pinker…he wasn’t sure why.. But he liked the sound of it
 
 
This relationship wasn’t planned…it wasn’t meant to be forever…but right now, neither of them complained about it. Things don’t always go as planned… Accidents happen.
 
This was a happy accident. And they were just fine with that.~

Aaaand DONE!!! Another story arc completed!!! 
Okay, so yeah! Mako has left with the pod to experience life in the ocean with ponies (or to put it plainly Hippocampus- Orcas) of a part of his life. When will he come back? Who knows.~
