“Make way! Make way common ponies, for the newest prince of Equestria, the prince of the night!” boomed the deep voice of the mighty alicorn. Heads turned and jaws dropped as the blue stallion pranced giddily through the streets of Canterlot, his massive wings held high and proud. A horrified pegasus mare followed by his side.
 
“Luna, sweetheart,” murmured Fluttershy, covering her blushing face with a hoof, “don’t you think you could be a little more… discrete?”
 
“Discrete!” Luna shouted, throwing up his head so his sparkling beard caught the light, “Why ever should we be discrete about our current male form? Let the world gaze upon my handsome visage with reverence, while they still can!”
 
Fluttershy cringed, as she watched Fleur de Lis excitedly drag Fancy Pants out of a restaurant.
 
“Darling,” Fluttershy hissed, “I know we agreed this month wouldn’t be a secret or anything, but… I wish you could be a little less brazen about it.”
 
“What could possibly be displeasing you, my love?” cheered Luna, as he waved to a group of giggling teenage fillies, who waved back, squealing to each other. “This form is amazing, if temporary! I am taller than my sister, I am a sight to behold! Let the world look at me, for this short time that they can! It does not bother you, does it?”
 
“It isn’t the ‘form’ that bugs me, it’s just that… well… I know it’s not a secret, but everypony can tell that we’re–” she dropped to a whisper, “–trying for a baby. It’s a little… embarrassing.”
 
Luna slowed his walking, eventually pausing all together. He looked down at his wife.
 
“Everypony already knows that the gender-changing potion has been perfected, and with our involvement,” he said, quietly, “Surely they could come to the conclusion that we are trying to conceive on their own, without seeing us… Are you sure that you are not embarrassed to be seen with me like this?”
 
“Darling, no!” gasped Fluttershy, “I mean, ponies could figure it out without seeing us, but… You know, it’s like–like on a wedding night, or when two ponies leave for their honeymoon. Everypony’s only thinking one thing when they look at us.” She blushed. “And with all the whispering and giggling, I’m just… I’m just a little uncomfortable, that’s all.”
 
Luna frowned at his hooves, and Fluttershy added; “Oh, I’m sorry Luna… I don’t mean to ruin your fun. The potion will only last another few weeks anyway–I’m so sorry, lets just pretend I didn’t say anything!”
 
“It it makes you unhappy, I will have no fun,” sighed Luna, kicking the ground with a mighty, purple hoof.
 
After a quiet, tense moment, a wide grin spread across his bearded face.
 
“My darling princess of kindness!” he boomed. Several necks craned out of windows. “If you dislike the attention we get when we are seen in this form, you need not be seen!”
 
With a mighty ‘woosh,’ Luna threw a wing over Fluttershy. The feathered appendage shielded her entirely from view, although the alicorn was now standing ridiculously with one wing touching the floor.
 
“Is that better, darling?” Luna asked, excitedly, glancing down at the pegasus.
 
“…Much better,” smiled Fluttershy, “Nopony will be looking at us funny now. Well, they will, but for different reasons.”
 
“In that case, all is well now!” the prince boomed, “Now, let us visit that nephew of mine!” Luna looked back down Fluttershy and squealed; “Blueblood is going to be very jealous of my beard!”
