Toymaking decisions are made well over a year in advance, because shockingly enough it does actually take a lot of time to design toys and sign contracts and establish supply chains and make distribution deals, et cetera ad infinitum; the very idea that someone at Hasbro is feverishly watching comment sections and social media to see whether anyone is yelling about a particular character is patently ridiculous.

Maybe if the alicorn status had a upgrade Cutie mark power, Starlight could add cutie marks to her flank, but choosing any time for using her new skills. But even I don’t believe Cadance defeat a wizard and she gained her wings was more important than Chrysalis defeat or being Twilight AAA batteries for each villain.

As a single act, sure, but by the time she’d ascended she’d saved the world from three major villains. The spell thing was more a test after the job had already been earned, as far as Celestia was concerned.
 
Even if we count Starlight saving the world from her own continued tyranny by, you know, agreeing to stop ruining history… then we count her saving the heroes kidnapped by Chrysalis… that’s still only twice. Which is not to downplay that first time. Agreeing to stop wrecking shit was actually a first for a villain, so I will in fact give her some props. She didn’t require rainbow cleansing, just a few cycles of time looped vengeance followed by a cold dose of the reality of what her winning cost the world.

Yeah. Fluttershy trying reforming Discord was a big step and of course the main6 with wings and horns, it would have been a good reward for their efforts. Twilight is ok, but only change a bad Starswirl spell was silly to her ascension

If ‘saving x’ was enough to get you wings, we’re still needing a set for Rarity, AJ, and Pinkie, and a couple horns for Rainbow and Fluttershy first. Spike did get his finally, so he’s off the short list, but then we need Shining Armor, and probably the student six. Then we can certainly get to former antagonists who have turned over a new leaf.

Wierd cause Twilight didn’t gain power as alicorn. AS element of magic she can storage a lot of magic. Starlight with wings or no ones she will have the same power. And if we talk about about she would have dersevd her wings. Yes, Starlight and Trixie saved the changeling kingdom and that’s plenty recognition for that, as the mane6.

If we were to talk about her doing so directly after her reformation that would be one thing, the fact that you’re pretending that she’d still do that given her current character development at the end of the series is beyond asinine.

Giving her demigod alicorn power would be stupid. It’s the one thing the writer’s got right with Starlight.

Let’s be real. Twilight’s magical strength is already alicorn level. Starlight is roughly on level with Twilight normally, and that only ramps up with anger. Starlight wouldn’t benefit from a pair of wings when she can already self levitate. Really it’s pointless.
