Huh.
Hooray for very early WIPs, I guess. “But why,” one or two of you may ask, “why are you making this in TF2?” Well, unless you zoomed in on that top-right corner, you probably don’t know. Basically, this will be the hub world(rip in peace, Hub), or rather, lobby, for a jump map I am working on.
I have simple plans for jump_equestria. Different courses for different locations across Equestria, ranging from the Dragon Lands to the Everfree, as well as key locations in such places, such as the Castle of the Two Sisters. Nothing too difficult in terms of jumping, just all the basics. I also have huge plans for a bonus course, let’s just say it will involve alternate timelines ;)
Expect this to be fully playable by the start of 2018 April this year, if I focus. I have my work cut out for me, as I will be doing custom models, textures, etc. Hopefully it will be truly finished by 2019, I hope ^^;

here goes all my free time
I got the brushwork (the actual jumps, none of the details or whatever) done for the first of 6 or so courses, the second is nearly done, and the rest… haven’t started. I haven’t touched this since December of 2017, but I really do want to get this done at some point, at least get it to a playable state.
Working on a single huge project is exhausting, though (in Hammer Editor no less, thing is a nightmare to use sometimes). It isn’t dead, but at the same time progress on this thing is going to be… well, slow. I do want to get it to a playable state, though, at that point it’ll become less making the actual map and more creating/adding all the details. Doing things like separate skyboxes, times of day, and just expressing the wide variety of locations… that’ll be fun to work on.
But for now, it’s the first and largest chunk of tedious work, and that’s actually making a map.
Are you still working on this or did you discard the project?
Haha, yeah. That would be pretty awesome. Pretty awesome is a bit of an understatement ^^;
The only problem is that this map probably won’t even reach a playable state until at least the end of April. Even then, I would have months of detail work, modeling, and texturing ahead of me. My guess for this monster reaching a point that could get it featured on a server would be at least 6 months from now.
That being said, working on this is pretty fun, and testing all the jumps is a nice little bonus :D
Hopefully.
